Hello, I am Angela Howard, School Counselor for Woodmore Middle School. I joined the education team at Woodmore Middle School in 2017. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling with licensure in clinical mental health and school counseling from Heidelberg University. I am trained in child/adolescent development, learning strategies, social skills, and self-management. I assist students in the areas of academic, social/emotional, and career exploration. I provide direct counseling services and prevention education to students in individual, small group, and classroom settings. I advocate for students needs and help resolve student issues through intervention. I collaborate with our team of educators and parents to help students achieve success.

Middle school is a unique time of rapid physical, mental, and emotional development. This period of early adolescence can be trying for students and their parents. I feel truly blessed to be able to share this time with them. If I can be of assistance to you or your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at ahoward@woodmoreschools.com or 419-862-1070, ext. 2050.

WMS Counseling Program

The Middle School Counseling Program is organized and implemented following the National Standards of the American School Counselor Association and within the ethical codes of ASCA and OSCA.

The primary goal of the Middle School Counseling Program is to promote and enhance student learning through the three broad and interrelated areas of student development (academic, career, and personal/social). To achieve these goals, the following methods are used to support our students: individual counseling, small group counseling, classroom guidance, consultation, coordination of resources, case management, and the guidance curriculum.

The following are documents that can assist you in the scheduling process. Please do not feel that you have to go through this process alone. This information is meant to provide you a starting point. To further assist, scheduling meetings are planned each year to discuss current course offerings and the dynamics of transitioning from one grade to the next. In addition, I am happy to meet with students and families individually to discuss future planning.

Students and parents experience a wide variety of feelings, challenges, and changes during the middle school years. I am here to help in any way that I can. In many cases, I assist in connecting families with resources available outside of school. In addition, there are a number of helpful resources also located online. Below are just a few:
