Middle School Band

The Woodmore Middle School Band program actually begins at the fifth grade level, with beginning instrumental lessons offered in August and weekly lessons continuing throughout the school year. At the Middle School level, the Sixth Grade Band meets as a class every day during school and performs in two concerts each year. The 7th and 8th Grade Band also meets as a class every day during school. This group performs three concerts per year and travels to the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Large Group Adjudication each spring. The 7th and 8th Grade Band students also have the opportunity to perform in the OMEA Jr. High Solo & Ensemble Adjudication. These middle school bands provide the students a strategically structured and fun program that gives them ample opportunity to develop their skills in music theory, performance, and composition, and to equip them for the transition into the high school band program.
