MS Team Finishes Fourth in the Conference

The junior high wrestling team completed its season by competing in the Northern Buckeye Conference Championships hosted by Genoa. The Wildcats collected 90 team points to finish fourth in the eight-team league. Woodmore had one champion, seventh-grader Cameron Overmyer, who won the 92-pound weight class by pinning Mason Glaze from Eastwood in the final. Three other wrestlers advanced to the championship match, but did not win. Eighth-grader Chase Dickerson lost 13-0 in the 80-pound weight class final to Jake Manley from Otsego. In the 98-pound weight class, eighth-grader Brett Sandwisch lost 11-1 to Brandon Hahn from Eastwood in the final and eighth-grader Clay Rickard was the runner-up in the 134-pound weight class losing by pin in the final. Seventh-grader Mikey Brzeczek placed third at 142 pounds winning his placing match over James Worley from Rossford, 7-3. Seventh-grader Christian Shope also placed third in the 86-pound weight class. Also earning a spot on the podium was seventh-grader Travis Diehl who placed fourth in the 205-pound weight class. He was pinned in the third-place match by Preston Gillingham from Genoa.
