Wildcats Third at Hopewell-Loudon

12/8/18 - The Woodmore middle school wrestling team finished third in the Hopewell-Loudon Invitational with 98.5 points.  Fassett won the team title with 209 points and Sandusky Perkins was next with 132 points.  The Wildcats had five wrestlers place second in their weight class.  Seventh-grader Lance Overmyer was second at 98 pounds with a 2-1 record, seventh-grader Brant Deal was the runner-up at 122 pounds with a 3-2 mark, eighth-grader Garrett Geldine was second at 128 pounds and had a 4-1 record, eighth-grader Eli Wolph was second at 172 pounds with a 3-1 record, and eighth-grader Jacob Roginski compiled a 4-1 record to place second at 205 pounds.  Seventh-grader Jack Caldwell was fourth a 104 pounds with a 1-3 record and eighth-grader Colin Mangus had a 2-3 record at 116 pounds for place fourth.

Wildcats Win Tri-Meet

12/5/18 - The Woodmore middle school wrestling team won a pair of dual matches as part of the tri-meet hosted by the Wildcats.  Woodmore won the opening match, a 35-12 decision over Rossford, as all six wrestlers picked up wins.  The Wildcats then won a 34-30 decision over Sandusky, as again, all six wrestlers picked up wins.  Seventh-grader Lance Overmyer won by pin over his Rossford opponent and posted a major decision over his Sandusky opponent at 98 pounds.  At 110 pounds, seventh-grader Jack Caldwell won by pin over this Rossford opponent and by forfeit in the Sandusky match.  At 116 pounds, Colin Mangus also won by pin and forfeit, respectively.  Seventh-grader Brant Deal posted a technical fall in the Rossford match and won by pin over his opponent from Sandusky.  Eighth-graders Eli Wolph and Jacob Roginski both won by forfeit versus their Rossford opponent and pinned their Sandusky opponent.  Wolph wrestled at 172 pounds and Roginski at 205 pounds.

Wildcats Open at Genoa

12/1/18 - The middle school wrestling team opened the season in the Genoa Invitational.  Woodmore tied for sixth as a team in the seven-team event with 70 points.  Seventh-grader Lance Overmyer won the 98-pound weight class with three wins, two by fall.  Eighth-grader Garrett Geldine was the runner-up in the 128-pound weight class winning two of three matches.  Eighth-grader Eli Wolph was the runner-up at 172 pounds splitting two matches.  Eighth-grader Colin Mangus finished fourth in the 116-pound weight class  posting a 1-2 record.  Seventh-grader Brant Deal also finished fourth at 122 pounds losing both his matches.  Seventh-grader Jack Caldwell went 1-2 in the tournament at 104 pounds.  Eighth-grader Jacob Roginski had an 0-2 record at 205 pounds.

Wildcats Fourth at League Meet

1/20/18 - The Woodmore wrestling team concluded the season by finishing fourth in the Northern Buckeye Conference Championships hosted by Elmwood.  Woodmore finished with 90 points, one-half point in front of Eastwood.  Otsego won the team title with 175.5 points and were followed by Lake (145.5 pts.) and Elmwood (104 pts.).  The Wildcats had three champions and three wrestlers who placed third.  Eighth-grader Blake Almroth won two matches to win the 128-pound weight class, eighth-grader Gavin Parlette took the 142-pound weight class winning the championship match by pin, and seventh-grader Eli Wolph was the only wrestler in the 160-pound weight class.  Eighth-grader Landon Emch won his third-place match by pin in the 98-pund weight class, eighth-grader Lukus Schaub won his third-place match by pin at 104 pounds, and eighth-grader Casey Cousino won by pin in the third-place match at 122 pounds.  Seventh-grader Garrett Geldine (110 pounds) and seventh-grader Ethan Taylor (172 pounds) also wrested in the league meet.

Wildcats Win Two at Lake

12/18/19 - The wrestling team won two of their five matches at the Lake Runway Duals.  Woodmore beat Arbor Hills (42-36) and Rossford (43-18) while losing to Bowling Green (72-21), Gibsonburg (30-21), and Westlake (39-36).

Tri-Meet Today Cancelled

12/13/17 - The Northern Buckeye Conference tri-meet at Woodmore, with Lake and Rossford, has been cancelled because of the weather.

Wrestlers Fourth at Hopewell-Loudon

12/9/17 - The middle school wrestling team placed fourth in the 11-team Hopewell-Loudon Invitational with 81 points.  Fassett Gold won the team title with 239.5 points while Fassett Green had 111 points and Mohawk had 85.  Eighth graders Gavin Parlette and Casey Cousino each finished second in their weight classes.  Parlette had a 3-1 record in the tournament at 142 pounds with all three wins by pin.   Cousino wrestled at 116 pounds and was 3-0 in his pool with three pins.  He then won his semifinal match by pin over Koby Miller from Oregon Gold before losing by pin to Austin Evans from Riverdale in the championship match.  Eighth-graders Landon Emch and Lukus Schaub along with seventh-grader Eli Wolph all finished third.  Emch wrestled at 104 pounds and had a 3-2 record with two wins by pin and a forfeit victory.  Schaub had a 1-2 record at 98 pounds and posted his one win by pin.  Wolph went 2-2 in the tournament at 160 pounds losing by pin in the semifinals before pinning Ryan Emshoff from Mohawk in the third-place match.  Also wrestling for the Wildcats was seventh-grader Garrett Geldine who had a 1-2 record in the 110-pound weight class, seventh-grader Ethan Taylor in the 172-pound weight class where he had an 0-3 record, and seventh-grader Jacob Roginski was 2-2 in the 205-pound weight class.
