Wildcats Win Lakota Invite

4/13/17 - The track and field team captured first-place in the Lakota Invitational with 114 points.  Old Fort was second with 81 points.  Two relay teams placed first for the girls team.  The 800 relay foursome of Makenna Book (8th grade), Sidney Gillig (8th grade), Paige Travis (8th grade), and Samantha Schaub (8th grade) won in a time of 2:05.4 while the 1600 relay team of Gillig, Sidney Wank (7th grade), Olivia Thatcher (8th grade), and Ava Beam (8th grade) took first place in a time of 4:56.5.  Second-place points were earned by Travis in the 100 (14.4), Beam in the 1600 (5:57.0) and 800 (2:46.2), Wank in the 400 (1:14.5), and Julia Cable (8th grade) in the high jump (4-0).  The 400 relay team of Travis, Schaub, Gillig, and Book were second in a time of 58.7.  Third-place finishes were turned in by: Thatcher in the 1600 (6:05.0) and 800 (2:46.7), Brooke Allen (8th grade) in the 400 (1:17.4), Karys Becera (7th grade) in the shot put (27-11), and Schaub in the long jump (11-3 1/2).  Other athletes who scored points included: Wank in the 100 hurdles (6th, 20.4), Book in the 200 hurdles (4th, 35.5), Grace Rosenberger (8th grade) in the 200 (6th, 35.4), Sierra Cantley (8th grade) in the discus (5th, 58-5) and long jump (11-1 1/2), and Allen in the shot put (4th, 25-9).
