MS Teams Begin League Tournament Play

The junior high girls basketball teams begin the Northern Buckeye Conference Tournament tomorrow. The seventh grade completed its season with a 16-0 overall record and a 14-0 mark in league play to earn the #1 seed. The Wildcats will begin NBC Tournament play against #8 seed Fostoria. The Woodmore-Fostoria game will be the last of four games tomorrow and is tentatively scheduled for 12:45 at Elmwood Middle School. The seventh grade tournament continues with semifinal games on Wed., Jan. 27, at Elmwood Middle School at 4:15 and 5:30. The winner of the Woodmore-Fostoria game advances to meet the winner of Eastwood-Elmwood at 5:30 on Wednesday. The seventh grade championship game will be Sat., Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at the site of the eighth grade tournament, Eastwood Middle School. The eighth grade team begins the tournament as the #3 seed after recording a 10-6 overall record and a 9-5 mark in league play. The Wildcats begin tournament play tomorrow at 9 a.m. (the first game of the day) against the #6 seed, Lake. The winner of the Woodmore-Lake game advances to the tournament semifinals on Wed., Jan. 27, against the winner of Genoa-Elmwood at 4:15 (the first semifinal game of the day) back at Eastwood Middle School. The eighth grade championship game will be played Sat., Jan. 30, at noon at Eastwood Middle Schoool. Tickets for all tournament games are $4 for adults and $2 for students and are good for all games on that day.
