Girls Win NBC Title, Boys Are Fifth

10/15/16 - The girls junior high cross country team won the Northern Buckeye Conference meet hosted by Fostoria while the boys team placed fifth.  The girls had 20 points to finish ahead of second-place Genoa who had 44 points.  The girls had five runners finish in the top 10 including league champion Ava Beam (8th grader) who ran a time of 13:27.40, which was over three seconds faster than the runner-up.  Eighth-grader Greta Bauder placed fifth in 13:56.96, eighth-grader Olivia Thatcher was sixth in 14:02.54, seventh-grader Sidney Wank was seventh in 14:15.54, and seventh-grader Kristen Davis was 10th in a time of 14:43.01.  Eighth-grader Savanna Fligor placed 15th in a time of 15:13.91 and eighth-grader Sidney Gillig was 17th in 15:22.36.  Eighth-grader Sierra Cantley was 27th in 16:38.44, eighth-grader Olivia Heidebrink was 30th in 17:07.26, eighth-grader Julia Cable was 31st in a time of 17:08.38, and seventh-grader Makayla Stang was 49th in a time of 21:11.35.  On the boys side, the Wildcats had 114 points to finish fifth behind Genoa (30 pts.), Otsego (63), Eastwood (81) and Lake (106).  Top finisher for the boys was eighth-grader Kayden Widman who was 14th in a time of 13:29.81.  Eighth-grader Kegan Harrison placed 22nd in 14:12.24 and eighth-grader Ian Jacobson was 25th in a time of 14:40.37. Other Woodmore runners included: eighth-grader Nathan Sedlmeier (26th, 14:41.63), seventh-grader Joshua Hobbs (35th, 15:44.47), seventh-grader Mason Hablitzel (39th, 16:07.87), seventh-grader Marty Repka (51st, 17:52.89), and seventh-grader Nick Rothert (56th, 20:24.40).
