Wildcats Win Lakota Invite

4/13/17 - The track and field team won the seven-team Lakota Invitational with 171 points.  Old Fort was the runner-up with 95 points.  Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) won three individual events as the Wildcat athletes won a total of seven events and a relay.  Sandrock took the 110 hurdles in a time of 17.9, the 100 in 12.4, and he captured the 200 hurdles with a time of 29.5.  Also winning events was Luke Travis (7th grade) in the 200 with a time of 26.4, Gage Might (8th grade) in the shot put with a best of 36-6, Kayden Widman in the discus with a toss of 101-7, and Cameron Overmyer (8th grade) in the pole vault clearing 9-0.  The 800 relay team of Christian Shope (8th grade), Ethan McNair (8th grade), Casey Cousino (7th grade), and Weston Angel (8th grade) won the event in a time of 1:58.9.  Picking up second place points for the Wildcats was: Travis in the 100 (12.5), C.J. Buchanan (7th grade) in the 1600 (5:27.2), Widman in the 400 (1:06.1), Aaron Wagner (8th grade) in the shot put (35-6), Colby Pendleton (8th grade) in the discus (90-2), and McNair in the long jump (14-9 1/2).  The 400 relay foursome of Shope, Might, Cousino, and Lukus Schaub (7th grade) were second in the event with a time of 55.2.  Earning third-place points was Might in the 110 hurdles (19.3) and Widman in the 800 (2:36.7).  Also placing for the Wildcats was: Ian Jacobson (8th grade) in the 400 (4th, 1:07.9) and high jump (4th, 4-6), Travis in the 200 hurdles (6th, 32.9), Buchanan in the 800 (4th, 2:37.7), McNair in the 200 (4th, 28.0), and the 1600 relay team of Shope, Jacobson, Cousino, and Buchanan in a time of 4:41.0.
