Wildcats 4th in Invite; Sandrock Named Top Male Performer

4/17/17 - Led by three first-place finishes by eighth-grader Aaron Sandrock, the boys team place fourth in its own invitational with 59 points.  Clyde won the team title with 84.5 points while Otsego and Eastwood tied for second with 74 points .  Sandrock captured the 110 hurdles (17.7), the 100 (12.1), and the 200 hurdles (29.1).  For his performance, Sandrock was selected by the coaches as the Outstanding Male Performer in the meet.   Also winning an event was Cameron Overmyer (8th grade) who captured the pole vault event clearing 8-6.  Earning third-place points for the team was Kayden Widman in the discus with a toss of 115-3 while his teammate, Colby Pendleton (8th grade), was fourth in the discus with a best of 110-1.  Other placers (top six in each event scored team points) for the boys team included: Luke Travis (7th grade) in the 100 (6th, 12.6) and 200 hurdles (5th, 30.9), C.J. Buchanan (7th grade) in the 1600 (5th, 5:42.1), and Gage Might (8th grade) in the shot put (6th, 35-1).  Two relays teams placed.  The 400 relay team of Christian Shope (8th grade), Might, Casey Cousino (7th grade), and Lukus Schaub (7th grade) finished sixth in a time of 54.6.  The 800 relay team of Shope, Ethan McNair (8th grade), Cousino, and Weston Angel (8th grade) placed fifth in a time of 1:57.9.
