Wildcats Win Dual Meet at Otsego

4/23/18 - The boys track and field team won a close dual meet at Otsego by a 61-57 score.  Woodmore won nine events led by eighth-grader Luke Travis who won the 110 hurdles (16.9), the 200 hurdles (30.66), and the 100 (13.3).  Eighth-grader C.J. Buchanan picked up two wins taking the 1600 (5:22.0) and the 800 (2:31.8).  Other winners for Woodmore was eighth-grader Jared Atkin in the high jump (4-1), eighth-grader Josh Goodwin in the 400 (1:11.0), the 800 relay team of eighth-grader Casey Cousino, eighth-grader Lukus Schaub, eighth-grader Zane Willis, and eighth-grader Gavin Duslak with a time of 1:59.83, and the 400 relay team of Cousino, Schaub, eighth-grader Gavin Parlette, and Atkin in a time of 54.8.  Earning second-place points was: seventh-grader Eli Wolph in the shot put (31-6 1/2), Atkin in the long jump (14-4 1/2), eighth-grader Josh Hobbs in the pole vault (7-0) and 1600 (6:01.0), Goodwin in the 200 hurdles (32.5), and eighth-grader Brendan Gilbert in the  200 (30.5).

Wildcats Win Tri-Meet at Fostoria

4/18 /18 - The boys middle school track and field team won a tri-meet at Fostoria with 279 points while Fostoria had 118 points and Fostoria St. Wendelin had eight points.  The boys team won all but the three relay events in the meet.  Three athletes were double-winners.  Eighth-grader Luke Travis took both hurdle events - the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.7 and the 200 hurdles running 31.6.  Eighth-grader Josh Hobbs took the 1600 with a time of 5:24.0 and the pole vault clearing 6-0.  Eighth-grader Jared Atkin took two of the field events winning the long jump with a best of 16-0 3/4 and the high jump clearing 4-8.  Also winning events was eighth-grader Casey Cousino (100, 13.0), eighth-grader Brendan Gilbert (200, 28.8), seventh-grader Logan Lopez (400, 1:06.1), eighth-grader C.J. Buchanan (800, 2:33.5), seventh-grader Eli Wolph (shot put, 31-8 1/4), and eighth-grader Drew St. John (discus, 80-10).

4/16/18 - The middle school boys and girls track meet this afternoon vs. Eastwood has been cancelled.

Wildcats Win Lakota Invite

4/13/18 - The boys track and field team won the Lakota Invitational with 85.33 points.  There were 14 schools in the meet and Swanton finished second with 75 points.  Woodmore had a placer (top eight in each event scored team points) in all 15 events led by the first-place finish from eighth-grader Luke Travis in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.5.  Travis was the runner-up in the 200 hurdles with a time of 29.9 and he placed fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.0.  Woodmore had three other second-place finishes.  Eighth-grader C.J. Buchanan ran a time of  5:18.0 in the 1600, eighth-grader Jared Atkin had a best of 14-9 in the long jump to place second, and the 1600 relay team of Buchanan, eighth-grader Josh Hobbs, eighth-grader Zane Willis, and eighth-grader Gavin Duslak ran 4:29.7.  Earning third-place points was Buchanan in the 800 with a time of 2:34.1, Duslak in the 400 with a time of 1:02.6, and the 400 relay team of eighth-grader Casey Cousino, eighth-grader Lukus Schaub, Willis, and Atkin running a time of 53.5.  Other placers in the meet for Woodmore included: seventh-grader Logan Lopez in the 400 (t-8th, 1:06.3), the 800 relay team of Cousino, Willis, Schaub, and Lopez with a time of 1:56.6 to place fifth, Cousino in the 200 (6th, 28.2), Duslak in the 200 (7th, 28.3), seventh-grader Eli Wolph in the shot put (5th, 33-8), eighth-grader Drew St. John in the discus (7th, 83-2), Schaub in the long jump (8th, 13-6 /2), Atkin in the high jump (4th, 4-10), and Hobbs in the pole vault (7th, 7-0).

Woodmore Third in League Meet

5/12/17 - The boys track and field team won three events and finished third in a back-and-forth three team fight for the Northern Buckeye Conference championship in a meet hosted by Rossford.  Eastwood eventually won the team title with 113.75 points, and were followed by Otsego (100.5 pts.) and Woodmore (98 pts.).  Winning league titles for Woodmore was Gage Might (8th grade) in the shot put with a best of 38-10, Cameron Overmyer (8th grade) in the pole vault clearing 8-6, and Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) in the 100 running a time of 12.33.  Second-place points were earned by Luke Travis (7th grade) in the 100 hurdles (16.73) and Sandrock in the 200 hurdles (29.60).  Two third-place finishes came from Kayden Widman (8th grade) in the discus (108-5) and Aaron Wagner (8th grade) in the shot put (37-11).  Other placers (top eight in each event scored team points) included: Colby Pendleton (8th grade) in the discus (6th, 102-1 1/2), Ian Jacobson (8th grade) in the high jump (t5th, 4-10), Weston Angel (8th grade) in the pole vault (5th, 8-0), Sandrock in the 110 hurdles (4th, 17.91), C.J. Buchanan (7th grade) in the 1600 (4th, 5:22.13) and 800 (8th, 2:32.99), Christian Shope (8th grade) in the 400 (7th, 1:02.1), and Travis in the 200 hurdles (6th, 30.48) and 200 (6th, 27.38).  The 400 relay of Widman, Casey Cousino (7th grade), Might, and Zane Willis (7th grade) were seventh in a time of 53.87, the 800 relay foursome of Cousino, Might, Ethan McNair (8th grade), and Willis was third in 1:53.17, and the 1600 relay group of Shope, Jacobson, Widman, and McNair was sixth in 4:16.08.

Wildcats Lose Dual Meet on the Road at Eastwood

5/8/17 - Woodmore won five events but lost a Northern Buckeye Conference dual meet at Eastwood, 74-49.  Winning events for the Wildcats was Luke Travis (7th grade) in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.92, C.J. Buchanan (7th grade) in the 1600 running a time of 5:21.05, Ethan McNair (8th grade) in the 400 with a time of 1:03.29, Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) in the 200 hurdles with a time of 28.60, and Cameron Overmyer (8th grade) in the pole vault clearing 8-6.  Second-place points were earned by Sandrock in the 110 hurdles (17.68), Christian Shope (8th grade) in the 400 (1:05.81), Travis in the 200 hurdles (28.62) and the 200 (26.77), Ian Jacobson (8th grade) in the high jump (4-6), and Kayden Widman (8th grade) in the shot put (35-7 1/2) and the discus (110-0).  Picking up third-place finishes was Buchanan in the 800 (2:34.43), Aaron Wagner (8th grade) in the shot put (35-0), and Weston Angel (8th grade) in the pole vault (7-6).

5/3/17 - The boys track and field team won a tri-meet at home nosing out Genoa.  The Wildcats had 71 points. Genoa finished one point behind and St. Wendelin had 10 points.  Woodmore won six events and one relay.  Winning events was Luke Travis (7th grade) in the 110 hurdles (18.2), Christian Shope (8th grade) in the 400 (1:04.3), Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) in the 200 hurdles (30.3), Gage Might (8th grade) in the shot put (36-3), Colby Pendleton (8th grade) in the discus (103-0), and Cameron Overmyer (8th grade) in the pole vault (7-6).  The 400 relay foursome of Kayden Widman (8th grade), Lukus Schaub (7th grade), Casey Cousino (7th grade), and Zane Willis (7th grade) won the event in a time of 56.7.  Earning second-place points was: C.J. Buchanan (7th grade) in the 1600 (5:23.0) and 800 (2:36.4), Travis in the 200 hurdles (30.7) and 200 (26.9), Widman in the shot put (35-6), and Weston Angel (8th grade) in the pole vault (7-0).  The 800 relay group of Might, Ethan McNair (8th grade), Cousino, and Willis was second in a time of 1:54.4 and the 1600 relay was second in a time of 4:46.3.  The team was Angel, Buchanan, Ian Jacobson (8th grade), and Shope.

Track and Field Team at Lake

5/1/17 - The track and field team lost a 63-51 decision at Lake.  Winning events for the Wildcats was Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) in the 110 hurdles (17.9) and the 200 hurdles (29.1), Christian Shope (8th grade) in the 400 (1:06.9) and two relay teams - the 800 foursome of Casey Cousino (7th grade), Gage Might (8th grade), Lukus Schaub (7th grade), and Noah Bittel (7th grade) in a time of 2:06.8, and the 1600 relay group of Shope, Ian Jacobson (8th grade), C.J. Buchanan (7th grade), and Kayden Widman (8th grade) in a time of 4:51.0.  Second-place finishers included Buchanan in the 1600 (5:40.0) and Might in the 110 hurdles (18.4).

Wildcats Fourth at Eastwood Relays

4/28/17 - The track and field team placed fourth in the eight-team Eastwood Relays with 66 points.  Eastwood was the team champion with 84 points.  The Wildcats won two events.  The 440 shuttle hurdle team of Gage Might (8th grade), Ethan McNair (8th grade), Luke Travis (7th grade), and Aaron Sandrock (8th grade) posted a time of 71.82 to take first place while the shot put threesome of eighth-grader Aaron Wagner (35-1, 2nd individually), eighth-grader Colby Pendleton (33-5, 4th), and eighth-grader Travis Diehl (31-10 1/4, 6th) won their event.  The Wildcats had four runner-up finishes.  The 400 relay of Travis, Might, McNair, and Sandrock had a time of 50.51, the 800 relay comprised of the same four athletes ran 1:47.44, the pole vault group of eighth-grader Cameron Overmyer (8-6, 1st) and eighth-grader Weston Angel (6-6, t-5th) placed second, and the discus threesome of eighth-grader Kayden Widman (90-1), Diehl (90-1), and Pendleton (88-9) also took second.  The 3200 relay of C.J. Buchanan (7th grade), Ian Jacobson (8th grade), Christian Shope (8th grade), and Widman were timed in 10:30.78 to place third.  The distance medley relay team also placed third in a time of 13:51.78 and was comprised of the same four athletes as the 3200 relay.  Jacobson placed fifth in the high jump competition winning the event individually clearing 5-0.
